California man arrested after girl's body found in church parking lot Apr 29th 2012, 11:24 LONG BEACH, Calif. –  Police in Long Beach, Calif., are investigating a murder and attempted suicide after two bodies -- including a young girl's -- were found outside a church parking lot. The bodies were discovered about 11:00am local time Saturday by Nancy Eormurian who spotted the girl, believed to be about nine years old, and a man on the ground outside the Los Altos United Methodist Church, KABC-TV reported. "I just thought they were two bodies that were dumped there," Eormurian said. "And then I really started looking closer and I realized that I didn't think she was breathing. He was being more conscious, looking back toward me, but there was blood everywhere." Eormurian said the man indicated that the girl was his "other daughter." "Two bodies were found at that location. One was determined deceased, the other [person] was transported to a local hospital," news website Patch reported, citing an email from Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Nancy Pratt. According to authorities, the man was either the child's father or stepfather. He is expected to survive from what is believed to be self-inflicted injuries. KABC-TV said he was arrested Saturday.
