BEAVER FALLS, Pa. –  The Federal Aviation administration says that a small plane with two people aboard has hit a power line and crashed onto a road I western Pennsylvania, but there were no serious injuries.

FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac said the single-engine, two-seat Diamond DA20 was attempting to land Friday just after 12 p.m. at Beaver County Airport when it struck a power line and ended up on McClain Road in Chippewa Township. The pilot declared a mayday before the crash.

The tail was nearly snapped off and the plane pitched forward with its propeller on the ground.
She said both people in the plane were taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out; the injuries were not serious.

The plane is registered to O'Toole Aviation in Smithton, Salac said.
